This Mark Taylor arrangement (above) is of the classic Bobby Timmons piece Moanin', which originally appeared on the 1958 Art Blakey album of the same title. Since then, Moanin' has become a jazz standard.

    WOW - always great to hear "alternate takes" - curious that Morgan and Golson would quote the exact exchange as the album take at the end of his solo. One of my favorite albums.

    and of course Morgan opened his solo with the exact same bars as he did on the album
